Hey there! I assembled a custom liquid-cooled gaming setup and initially couldn't get it to start. When I first turned it on, the screen wouldn’t display anything. I looked at the Debug LEDs on the motherboard – there was a strong red CPU indicator and a flickering red DRAM light. After going through all the troubleshooting advice (and checking the instructions in the README about handling no-start or no-power situations), I suspected either the CPU or the board itself might be faulty.

I reached out to AMD’s RMA service quickly, and they swapped out my old 7700x for a brand new one. Still, the red CPU light persisted after multiple attempts. Eventually, I sent the motherboard back to Asrock. It arrived a week later, but it wasn’t in its original box and had a peeled SSD thermal pad – the same one I used on my original board. The serial numbers didn’t match, so I thought they were either a working replacement or a repaired unit.

Despite getting the new parts, the issue remained. I tried everything: resetting cables, powering it off and on, re-seating RAM, checking the CPU, even swapping out the power supply and testing with different monitors and cables. I also updated the motherboard BIOS to version 2.10 and used the BIOS Flashback feature once – both times it worked. I ran stress tests on other systems and power supplies, but nothing changed.

Still seeing that solid red CPU light when I power it up without RAM. I’ve listed all the steps I took and checked, and I’m starting to think there might be a problem with the RAM or something else in the motherboard. I hope someone can help me figure this out. Thanks for your time!
