Hi all, I'm at a total loss on my homebuilt PC. I'll list all my specs at the bottom of this post but first the issue. Only while in game, and across multiple games i have tried ( Baldur's Gate 3, Fortnight, Apex Legends, Minecraft, all played at all different settings for graphics) the PC will either crash to desktop, BIOS screen with an error of an unstable over clock ( even though i have reverted back to stock settings), or it will go through a reset cycle. The crash logs for each game I can get ahold of all have the same sort of verbiage like " GPU initialization failed". Also specifically Fortnite and Baldur's gate most crash sequences that fail to desktop say there is an error with the game filed and to verify game files, which I have done may times. there is no rhyme or reason that i can see that causes the crash, its always at different spots and different work loads with the games. I have tried even underclocking and undervolting everything I can in some sort of attempt to aid me in research, but I have moved everything back to stock to hopefully start diagnosing from scratch. I'm not super savvy with diagnosing issues like this and i am at a frustrating loss, and no amount of research i have done has pointed me in any sort of direction as to where to even start. Thank you for any input. You're participating in multiplayer games with built-in anti-cheat protection. This feature is causing crashes in the game. If you play an offline game immediately after a multiplayer session, the anti-cheat remains active and may interfere with your actions. Remove all recently played multiplayer games, restart your PC, and only play offline games without anti-cheat to test the situation.
It seems the fix didn't work. All your games are uninstalled, and you're just running Baldur's Gate again. The crash continues to the desktop.
I suggested trying a game without anti-cheat features. Baldur's Gate 3 supports multiplayer, so it likely has protections against cheating. Remove the app and test another completely offline title that doesn't rely on anti-cheat. Don't forget to restart your computer before starting an offline game to confirm no hidden anti-cheat software is active.
The anti-cheat system has led to many crashes. It seems that isn’t the issue for you. You mentioned you built a computer, which suggests something might be wrong with it. I’m not sure. Your power supply unit could be too weak. I suggest you consult a professional to test your PC and identify the problem.
Yes, the PC and clean installation of Windows are set up. The issue persists after those steps.
It seems performance might be affected by the GPU, RAM, or CPU, but you're not aware of these issues.
