Hi Guys. I attempted an OC on my I7 8700K with MSI GAMING 5 and H100i v2. However, I encountered several issues:

Atm, I run daily at 4.6ghz 1.240v, with Adaptive + Offset -0.008, AVX -1, LLC 5. It's running stably here. Idle temperatures are around 35-45°C. Full Load Adobe Premier reaches about 75-80°C. Full load Prime95 takes 30 minutes to reach 85°C.

I tried increasing it to 4.9ghz 1.356v with manual voltage. LLC4, AVX -1, which causes an instant reset at Cine-benchr20. Under full load, it pulls up to 1.36 or higher on CPU-Z under full load.

I also tested 4.8ghz 1.35v with manual voltage. LLC4, AVX -1, and it resets after 10 minutes during full load Adobe Premier.

I attempted 4.7ghz at below 1.3 and it always resets instantly under any stress test.

Observations: the voltage increase affects the results differently depending on the software used. Adobe and Cine-bench pull higher voltage, causing the CPU to overheat faster than Prime95 v26.6 without AVX. The system used HWmonitor, Cpu-z, and core temp. I also used an AIO fan during the stress test, except for daily use.

My questions: Are the problems consistent? Could the chip be too sensitive to voltage changes above 3.5V? Or is the cooler insufficient to keep the chip cool? Or both? Or did I make a mistake with the setup?

Edit: I use Antic 4mx on the air cooler, and the CPU isn't disabled.

What are the solutions?

It's basically a faulty chip in that sense.
