I purchased a keyboard for my Windows 10 PC, specifically the Samsung Multi Keyb EJ-B3400BWGGDE. It includes an Fn key that I need to disable or secure, but I'm having trouble locating it. Someone can assist in locking or disabling it.

Settings>Ease of Access>Keyboard>Enable Fn key option
If unavailable, you can also turn off the function key in the BIOS.

I don't have that choice in Windows 10. Are there alternative options you'd like to consider?

Open your computer’s BIOS settings and search for the function key configuration, you should find it there. If you’re uncertain about its location or how to reach the BIOS, please share your motherboard model so I can assist you.

The feature isn't available in the BIOS settings. Is that correct? My motherboard is the TUF Gaming X570-PRO. Did I miss something?

It seems I’m quite old…after checking more closely, motherboard makers stopped including this feature in the BIOS long ago.
According to what I understand, Windows doesn’t let you modify the function key’s behavior. You could try editing the registry, but that’s risky.
I’ll keep you updated if I discover a way, because I’d like to know too.

Thank you, I'm eager to get assistance. I accidentally missed paying for a small keyboard and now I'm dealing with this confusing FN key. Please let me know soon.

Do you have a personal or professional version of Windows? I offer different options for each.

Press the Windows key + R, enter "gpedit.msc" in the box, then navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Mobility Center. Find “Function Key Lock” and double-click to open a new window. You should see an option to disable it and click apply. Restart if needed, but it shouldn't be essential.

If that fails or you can't locate it, you can install SharpKeys from Github and adjust the function key settings using this tool. It simplifies registry editing compared to manual changes.
