Issue encountered during setup of macOS on Hackintosh platform
I was attempting to run dual boot between Windows and Mac OS on two HDDs. Since I don’t have a Mac, I used VMware to install Sienna and created a bootable USB with Uni Beast. I accessed the installation via Clover Booter, which displayed an NTFS drive with a Windows logo and another labeled as an external drive with Sienna. When I clicked 'Install from external,' it opened the Mac installation screen but only showed the USB device. I tried formatting the hard drive in Windows using Disk Management, but it didn’t work. What should I do next?
Use the disk utility inside the mac installer to format the drive as HSF+. This action is available only from within the installer or Mac itself, not from Windows. The installer displays only HSF+ drives, so now it shows just USB options. HSF+ is also known as Mac OSx (Journaled).
The Apple bar is present in the installer. In the utilities section, you’ll locate Disk Utility, which lets you format the drive. If the drive appears in your bootloader, it should show up there too. After formatting, it will be visible in the installer.
