Hello! I recently purchased a 32GB 3600MHz Corsair Vengeance Pro SL RAM. It passed memtest86 without XMP, but failed on test 7 and test 8 when using XMP. I sent it back to the store for re-testing, but it still passed. I’m curious about why this happened. It’s running alongside an i5-12400.

they prefer your payment and avoid returning it. the ram should operate on the customer's account, not the retailer’s, to process a refund. alternatively, your bank will need confirmation that you tried to return the item and documented any issues with it.

The refund guidelines state that only products identified as faulty by technical support are eligible for return or exchange. Changes of heart or personal preference do not qualify for replacement. It appears the support team is handling cases correctly, so I’m not eligible. I also bought the item in cash.

Sadly for them, policy doesn't become law. If they didn't evaluate the product under the conditions you're using it in, then their testing approach is weak. It's like small claims—actually, it should be straightforward since they probably won't even appear. Just show up, wait, and you're likely to win automatically.

Could the motherboard or CPU be defective? Your old RAM was limited to 2400 MHz, which might cause issues when trying to run at faster speeds.

Without purchasing additional hardware for verification, troubleshooting will become difficult. It might point to a motherboard problem if the BIOS lacks updates for compatibility or stability.
