The issue affects all devices, even Ethernet connections, whenever the PC powers on. It used to occur occasionally while using phones or consoles, but now it happens exclusively with the PC and lasts from 15 minutes to an hour before resuming. This has been ongoing for years despite calls to Virgin Media. The technician who fixed the first problem replaced the hub3, yet the problem continued. On the second visit, he suggested upgrading to a router because the issue often happened when his son played games, which I dismissed as unhelpful and gave up on further support. The connection drops now mainly impact my streaming channel.

Is the router power plugged on the same outlet as the PC or something ? Does it happens after you press power on, or when you log into windows? Try booting into BIOS, and see if the connection lost. if the answer is no. Try booting into safe mode with networking as well.

It seems like a weak router operating on unstable electricity. Have you thought about buying a compact UPS? It’s a solid method to safeguard your device and guarantee you receive clean, stable power from the mains. I agree with the technology—most ISPs provide poor service, and allowing personal router use would be ideal.

The problem may persist for up to an hour. After restarting the router, does it remain inactive? When it freezes, does it still accept pings? If it doesn’t, a firmware issue is likely preventing a fix.

The router is located downstairs right next to my room, and it seems to stop working after I launch a browser, though it might occur during startup. I’ll look into it now.

The issue is that the router was swapped out after the initial technician check, even though they claimed it needed updating yearly. It hasn’t been adjusted in three years since installation, and the changes haven’t been significant.

It seems the issue is more about IP conflicts than power quality. I’d consider assigning a fixed IP on the computer initially.
