Today I chose to revisit my favorite game, Spore. It ran smoothly on three notebooks—two with Vista and one with Windows 7. After setting it up on my current machine (check out my profile details for more info), I encountered an 8016 error. I searched online but faced several challenges: 1) Most users reported the issue on Windows 10, which isn’t my setup. 2) Some mentioned problems with SecuROM, but I can’t locate it on my system. 3) The error was noted in GTA V, though I haven’t played it. Anyone have tips or fixes? I installed the game on my E: drive, which is where all my games and software are stored.
