ISO file for Windows 7 Home Basic SP1
ISO file for Windows 7 Home Basic SP1
I bought a Windows 7 Home Basic SP1 key from Reddit. The ISO is loading very slowly (<500 KB/s). Anyone have an improved link for downloading it? The file name looks like "en_windows_7_home_basic_with_sp1_x86_dvd_u_676470.iso". I plan to upgrade to Windows 10 soon.
Isn't Home Basic an original equipment manufacturer's operating system, and you can't purchase a tangible version? Problems might arise—it likely originated from a laptop.
You're running on a 32-bit operating system but paired with a 4690k processor. That's unusual since most modern systems use 64-bit architectures.
I hadn't noticed it was an OEM operating system or a 32-bit version. I thought upgrading to Windows 10 would let me pick a 64-bit option.
Recommend using a 64-bit system for the entire process. It should make things simpler.
Using Microsoft's download utility or the taskbar launcher? Uncertain about the download option, but the taskbar icon automatically identifies your installed version and downloads the correct one
I would start with the upgrade through the taskbar, of course. Then I'll download the Windows 10 64-bit ISO and install it. I successfully installed and activated Windows 7 Home Basic by downloading a Windows 7 Ultimate ISO from another source and removing ei.cfg to let me pick any version during setup. Now I'm attempting an update so I can access the Get Windows 10 app. Windows Update has been monitoring for updates for at least 30 minutes—this is typical behavior.
