Is your system running hot due to heavy CPU demand?
Windows estimates CPU usage by looking at time spent across all threads. A CPU with more threads but similar workload will show a lower percentage. This metric doesn’t reflect actual performance efficiency. Beyond that, staying below 100% is normal; reaching 100% means the CPU is bottlenecked.
The 7800X3D only features 8 cores, while Intel i5 through i9 models offer 8 to 16 extra cores. However, the usage numbers seem confusing since these cores aren’t primarily used for gaming—they shouldn’t be considered accurate.
The numbers aren't very strong because it's a weak starting point, unrelated to whether E cores are included. The E cores aren't favored for gaming, but if interest grows they'll become available and improve performance compared to their absence. Considering the shortcomings, it makes sense as a reflection of CPU usage rather than actual work done, which is acceptable.
Also considering this for similar reasons, since I aim to set up a fresh system using either the 7800x3d or 13700k/13900k. Because it only offers eight cores, it does raise concerns about handling multiple tasks or streaming. Also, as someone who prefers not to change things often, durability is important. Most 1080p gaming scores. “Testing games” channel is a good example. Uncertain if posting links is permitted. From what I understand, popular titles like Spider-Man, Horizon: New Dawn, and Cyberpunk often push CPU usage past 80%, with some surpassing 50%.
