My Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus stopped working suddenly yesterday. While my wife played Assassin's Creed Origins, the game became unstable and then froze completely. After rebooting, the system kept showing a blue screen with no error code. It seems the boot drive failed and was locked in place. It looks like there might be some liquid on it. I haven’t seen water anywhere else, so my guess is that two of the chips are leaking—one from the left and another near the right. The other two chips seem dry, and the M.2 heatsink has wet spots without any other signs of moisture. I’ve noticed a similar liquid film on a failed 1080Ti, but I thought the copper pipes were damaged instead. Do chips actually leak like this?

Welcome to the forums!! This "leaking" you are referring to is grease from the thermal pads. This is completely normal to happen and does not affect the components at all.
It seems like you're considering returning the item. I hope it doesn't occur again.
