Is your power supply sufficient for an RX 9070?
Does the Corsair RM650 PSU meet the requirements for powering an RX 9070 GPU in terms of energy use, stability, and durability? I own an i3-12100F, M.2 1TB SSD, 250GB SSD, 1.5TB HDD, and three case fans.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! Could you share the age of your PSU and the specific discrete GPU it supported during its time in use? Also, which RX 9070 model are you considering? If the PSU was brand new, then a standard RX 9070 would have been installed.
I bought my Corsair RM650 PSU in 2022 and it has worked well with the RX 6600. Now I’m thinking about upgrading to cheaper versions of the RX 9070 or RTX 5070.
The PSU should function well with your current configuration, whether using a 9070 (non-XT) or 5070. Upgrading to a stronger CPU later might require replacing the PSU as well.
I think it could function, but upgrading the CPU to high or choosing a better model would require replacing the PSU.
Always check the specifications on the manufacturer's website, as not every 9070 is the same.
