I just finished assembling my first PC but couldn’t get it to boot. I tried without the GPU and it worked, so I looked at my PCIe slot—was it damaged? If it is, is there a way to fix it?

if there is damage can you fix it no can some one els fix it probably will it cost more then the mb to fix yes.

Are those damaged pins, or just debris in the slot? Try holding your phone back and pinch-zooming instead of sticking the lens so close. It should be able to focus better.

Sorry for bad quality, unable to take a better picture with my phone. Just tried a different pcie slot and everything worked fine. Here is another picture.

Check the GPU PCIe connector, wipe it clean, and see if the issue resolves. If not, replace the motherboard with a new one, assuming the problem is with the board.

Dust might be present in the PCIe port, CPU socket, or directly on the CPU. You may attempt to clean these areas using compressed air to determine if it resolves the issue.
