Is your motherboard limiting performance?
Is your motherboard limiting performance?
Hey! It turns out my system is pretty outdated. I was working on fixing FPS issues in CSGO when I realized I needed to reset the BIOS back to its default settings. After saving and closing, I tried again but nothing changed. I also set my RAM to 3200 MHz, but when I booted Windows it still stuck at 2133. I’ve noticed some frame rate problems lately, but benchmarks say my PC is still solid. It’s the oldest part of my setup and hasn’t been upgraded much compared to other components. Here are the specs: Ryzen 9 3900X, Lian Li Galahad AIO, Gigabyte RTX 3060 Corsair Vengeance LED (2x8GB @ 3200MHz), Asus X370 Prime Pro Seasonic Focus Plus, Kingston A400 NVMe SSD, NZXT S340. Would you say the memory is limiting performance? For those wondering: the BIOS is up to date, temperatures are normal, and airflow looks good (max 85°C in AIDA Extreme). I’ve reinstalled Windows several times already. My main issues seem to come from low average FPS in games, especially when I switch drivers or install basic apps. Thanks for your help!
The processor speed might be the issue. Consider using Ryzen Master to adjust the RAM speed, which should make the BIOS run it at 3200MHz. If that fails, try setting it to 3000MHz.
The exact part number and version for the RAM are not specified in the provided information.
The issue appears resolved and the system operates at 3200mhz continuously now.
The issue was resolved through a specific adjustment. Writing the answer is challenging because it requires careful consideration.
I reinitialized the BIOS and adjusted the RAM speed and clock settings. I configured it to 3200 MHz and 1600 MHz respectively.
You aim to boost the RAM speed from 3000 MT/s to 3200. Just turn on DOCP and adjust the speed manually to 2933.
Docp is set to 3200, but my motherboard defaults to 2133 for some reason. I've checked all 2133, 3000, and 3200 settings, but none affected performance.
Attempted 2666 again, same issue. It seems the RAM speed might be affecting the frame rate.
