Check if your A320M-A Pro Max board supports R7 5700X without PBO or OC features, and see if overclocking is possible.

Undervolt could make sense with this setup, though the CPU may not hit its full boost speed as much without a well-designed VRM on the motherboard. Do you own a cooler that directs air downward over the VRM?

We’re compatible with a recent BIOS upgrade. Since it’s a low-spec machine, it may not perform optimally. What applications or software are you using right now?

It's not something I'd recommend discussing lightly. The VRM configuration is essentially a fundamental aspect. Invest wisely in your board—your CPU deserves a solid platform.

I think even with a bit slower clock speed, it would still be a good upgrade since increasing the cache size offers benefits despite the reduction.

I understand the issue with the CPU not hitting its peak boost speed. It seems like the stock cooling solution isn’t providing enough airflow for the current settings. Since you’re running at a lower voltage, the heat generation might be lower, but if the fan isn’t sufficient, temperatures could still rise. Consider checking your case ventilation or upgrading the fan if needed.

Suggest a higher-end board to unlock its full capabilities. Others may consider it acceptable. I boosted my R5 3600 to 4325 all cores with a £35 cooler.
