Is your laptop experiencing any issues?
I obtained a laptop equipped with an RTX 3050 and have been using it daily for games since July this year. Recently, I discovered the NVIDIA App which includes an Automatic Tuning feature, and I wanted to experiment with it on my machine. Before starting, I reached out to an NVIDIA consumer care representative via online chat, who seemed knowledgeable about the product. He assured me it was safe to use. After trying it, I noticed a noticeable improvement in FPS. However, when I compared it with the original clock speeds (after overclocking the GPU by 102 MHz), the difference was minimal—only around 3-5 FPS. This led me to question its effectiveness. Over the same period, another game that had previously run smoothly began showing lag in the menu. I attempted a clean driver installation but still faced issues. Additionally, running a 3DMark benchmark revealed an increase in graphics score but a decrease in CPU score. I’m confused about this situation. Is my GPU damaged? Are there others with similar specifications who have tried it and had success? My GPU has a 75W TDP; if anyone has the same specs, could you share their FPS results to help me determine if there’s an issue?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If you have a laptop with RTX 3050, feel free to note the brand, model, and SKU. Which BIOS version are you using for your device?
Use DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) in Safe Mode, then install the newest GPU driver from Nvidia's support site via an elevated command—Right click the installer and select Run as Administrator.
Thank you for your message.
Your HP Victus 15 fa0555tx has the latest BIOS version available at the website (F.29.Rev.A).
You also mentioned that all display-related drivers have been cleaned.
