Hey! I got an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 that is nearly four years old. It crashes every time I install a new Nvidia driver. The official drivers from Nvidia don't work either, and it's way too old (from 2018). Even after uninstalling everything with DDU and trying again, nothing worked. Games crash, MSI Afterburner freezes or just shows no GPU (I use it to check temps, but I never did anything called "OC"), and there are tons of BSODs. The problem started because my old GPU (GTX 1050 Ti) stopped working right, which made the system run at only 700MHz instead of faster speeds. This caused stuttering and lag. So I did a BIOS reflash to fix that frequency issue. But now, even though the speed is fixed, the driver still causes problems! Any suggestions?
First thing I'd do is check if there are any newer BIOS updates for your Acer laptop. If they exist, I'll update to the latest version and try the Nvidia drivers again. But you have to know the exact model number of your laptop because the short one you gave me isn't enough. You need the full name and any extra details like submodels. Usually this info is on a sticker behind the keyboard or taped under the battery in the compartment.
