Let's forget about the swsetup folder. It seems like a significant number of roadblocks have accumulated over the past few years. https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Noteb...10...-p/6143592 AMD A10-8700 paired with Radeon R6 and R7 M360 dual graphics drivers encountered issues. I own a HP Pavilion Notebook equipped with an AMD A10-8700P, featuring an integrated R6 GPU and a second "Linked" adapter—an R7 M360 in dual graphics mode. Currently, I'm running the driver provided by AMD CCC 15.11.1 Beta, and earlier versions included CCC 15.7. The operating system is Windows 10 Build 10586, and I've noticed... forums.

You're questioning whether the swsetup folder would be useful and unsure if the linked post offers a solution. You're also asking if the problem is insurmountable.

The setup would have been ideal. It means if you still had it.
Yes, it's solvable though the original HP driver is often missing from common sources.
Was the laptop running Windows 8.1 when it was first released?
I located a Windows 8.1 driver that could work on Windows 10 for testing purposes. The device was launched in 2015.

The only full driver available is listed below. Navigate to Windows Executable and click the blue circle with the white checkmark to open it. The download size is 415.4M. Once installed, ensure you create a safe backup of the file.

Are you certain it wasn't the reinstallation of the games that resolved the issue instead of a drive change?
