Recent Issues: Occasional long hangs, loud fan noise during operation. After resetting it several times it functions briefly before slowing again. It doesn’t occur when using Linux from a USB drive. Possible cause could be the hard drive itself. I’ve checked all diagnostics and they show no problems.
A discrepancy was observed with System Info Timezone – it displays SA Western Standard Time while my location is EST, which Windows has been manually set. Any advice would be appreciated.
I've cleaned it several times and it functions properly for a few days before slowing down again.
Where did you obtain the installer for the operating system? Did you install it in offline mode? Were all necessary drivers installed for the laptop while it wasn't connected to the internet (offline mode) using an elevated command?
I've observed that the System Info Timezone doesn't align with the Windows timezone. It displays SA Western Standard Time, whereas I'm in EST and Windows is set manually.
This issue has occurred before too; I just manually selected the location and then enabled sync.
You can check if there are any pending BIOS updates for the prebuilt version. Then, open Device Manager and look for any items marked with a yellow exclamation mark. Try manually reinstalling the chipset drivers.
It's a desktop with Windows OS installed from Windows. Dell doesn't support Windows 11 on this machine. I've kept all drivers updated without issues, and it has functioned well for more than a year on version 11. It would be a hassle to go back to Windows 10, though I might consider that option later.
