For gaming purposes? That machine is really outdated. I’d estimate it dates back to around 2013-2014.

It used to be a budget gaming setup. You can still run 10-year-old titles on it easily. It's likely worth around $100 to $150 on eBay.

What's crazy is how much value depends on the specific memory details stored. I think there are around four 8GB drives, each priced quite a bit over $100. The cost here is really steep, and it seems like almost any purchase comes with very expensive memory options.

The i5 4670k requires DDR3 memory. The current memory prices are mainly focused on DDR5.

For a few reasons I believed it was ddr4, but you're right. Given the current direction, I wouldn't be surprised if even ddr3 performance is impacted.
