I’ll try to stay concise. I want to upgrade but haven’t got the funds yet. Right now I’m using: Ryzen 7 2700X 4x8GB 3200 mhz Corsair veng. RGB pro RTX 2070 Super (founders edition if it helps) Gigabyte X570 Pro NZXT C1000 PSU. I recently reset my PC to free up space on the C drive, which was slow and had less than a gig of free space often. Still, my games seem to lag more at higher settings—1440p CS2 drops to 60-80 FPS, but it’s odd. My GPU or CPU never hits full speed, VR runs at about 45 FPS on Vive Pro 2, which used to be smooth. I’m unsure what’s wrong, but I don’t notice thermal throttling. Any advice would be great!
When you remove files, it doesn't actually delete them from the HDD/SSD/M.2—it just signals it's okay to overwrite. Probably a safety measure... there are cases where solving crimes helps. I think a newer driver was installed recently, which seems to affect game performance, making some games run faster while others slow down. It's been a long time since drivers changed. You didn't specify the operating system drive details. Could you share the make, model, and capacity? Also, let me know if you've run any diagnostics or need to check SMART status using Crystal Disk Info or DiskGenius. A failing drive can affect performance even if it's not the boot drive.
