Hello, I saw this about 3-4 days ago when Chrome tabs opened randomly without any reason. They looked like reliable brands, similar to BMW and clothing companies. Whenever this happens (every 5-10 minutes), everything freezes and I have to manually restart Chrome to fix keyboard issues. I haven’t installed anything recently, so I’m not sure what’s causing it. It doesn’t seem like a virus, but I haven’t run the full Microsoft Defender scan. I’m planning to delete Chrome to see if that helps.

You might want to verify whether any new extensions were added recently. The most effective method is to open Chrome with all extensions turned off, resolve the issue, then gradually re-enable each extension one at a time until the problem reappears, finally removing the problematic extension completely.

It appears the latest updates on all sites are automatically adding a toolbar and setting themselves as the main page.

I removed Chrome and the problem continued. I discovered the issue with a random application I downloaded a few months ago—it would open unexpected tabs. After deleting that app, the problem disappeared. It doesn’t clarify why those random tabs appeared. Now I use Opera GX, which is no longer an issue for me.

It was a tool used in a game I believe, but the problem persists with Opera, causing it to launch random tabs.
