Hi. A week ago, green goo showed up on my charging plug when I plugged in my Lenovo laptop. I tried to clean it off and didn't think much of it. Today, the goo came back again right away. Even after a few more checks moments later, when I took the charger out, the stuff was still there on the socket. It was there every time I looked. Google says green goo is made from copper oxide and plasticizer so that makes it conductive. So whenever this happens at outlets or plugs, you should wipe it off and clean the terminals while wearing gloves to stop problems like tracking or overheating. I've seen other Lenovo users have a similar problem here - link included. Does anyone know what I should do? I only bought my laptop a year ago, so I'm still under warranty. Everything is working fine for me though.

If your device is still covered by warranty, just call Lenovo. They will tell you where a good repair shop is close by. You can get the parts cleaned there for free.

We just have to guess. It's best to call Lenovo, find out for sure, and make sure it's safe. If it is bad, I'm going to file a warranty claim right away.

usb runs on less power than normal, so it won't hurt your life or brain, but it might break small electronic parts.

It's not a USB plug. It's the usual round shape. But it doesn't really matter to me.
