I own a RTX 3080, an i912900K, 10 fans, an AIO cooler, 32 GB RAM. Despite all adjustments, I’m experiencing severe stuttering in Fortnite. It’s happening in performance mode, with both DX11 and DX12, high and low settings—no difference. I’ve searched YouTube and tried various fixes, but nothing works. My other games run smoothly, so it’s definitely Fortnite. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Check your game settings for HDD or SSD usage. Does it usually run smoothly or does it occasionally lag?

It's a really unrefined game. I play a lot, and the latest Chapter 5 Season 2 caused frustrating lag. Prior to that patch, everything worked smoothly for me. I used to "pre-download streamed assets" as @podkall recommended, which helped a bit.

It's amusing to label Fortnite as unoptimized, yet I wouldn't say it runs smoothly across every platform.

It might actually be the issue—early in the lobby it feels awful, especially on the battle bus, after just a short time. It runs okay once, but then it starts lagging again. It also freezes when a message appears, like notifications about leveling up or XP. I’m frustrated because I thought it was fine, but now I’m worried it’s not working properly. Thanks for your help. That’s the simplest thing I noticed.

It was clearly the right choice, though I'm still experiencing some minor pauses. This feels much smoother than before.

That seems odd, isn't it? Could it be that Fortnite is the sole title available on the SSD platform, or are there additional options out there?
