Review the installation manual first. Then attempt a Manjaro setup. It’s essentially the same process but more automated and includes all GUI elements. I didn’t claim it was easy; I said it’s manageable if you grasp what’s happening. The default settings work well enough, automatic partitioning is available—just learn the basics like assigning the correct partition to the right mount point and you’re ready. After completing it twice, I think I could install it on a machine in about half an hour. I’d probably use that time just reading a single wiki page on Arch.

I've tried both Manjaro and Arch multiple times across different versions and flavors. The installer in Architect is the worst I've encountered recently. When I used Arch, I could set up a working system in about 40 minutes or less. Although Manjaro's installation is definitely simpler, the mess in Architect isn't worth my effort trying to understand why it's so flawed. I really want Manjaro to perform better, but it just keeps breaking my patience.

The software you see when installing any official Manjaro spin isn't called Architect—it's Calamares. To access Architect, you need to make an extra effort.
