Considering whether to return to the game is something you should think about. You mentioned losing interest after playing for six months and that it doesn’t seem like much has changed. Despite trying everything you could, you felt tired and wanted a break. Your experience was positive before, but now you’re seeking a fresh perspective. Let me know if you’d like some advice!

I'll begin next week... looking for the 4K display... wondering which server to connect...

Stopped around 8 months back. Honestly, beyond PVP and WVW, the living world isn't much if you care about the story—something I don't.

The server plays a big role in WvW. Higher-end servers attract more players, making it take over an hour to join a map. Lower-ranked servers have fewer players and a smaller WvW community. If you're focused on spvp or pve, you're free to pick any server. You can visit any server for PvE, though the latest update means most players from all servers will be on the map. To boost town and map activity for newcomers, consider joining from a country outside the USA and check the guild wars 2 website for their server locations.

I have limited knowledge about the European server. However, Jade Quarry, Black Gate, and Isle of Janthir are considered strong options for NA.

I figured. I guess for a game that is free to play after you buy it. Not much room for improving it. Living story seemed ok but I love WvW. Just the same maps over and over again. They need more maps for WvW. Those are great servers but I heard it might take a while to get into WvW and good luck on reset night.

I want to enjoy that game like everyone else—playing PVE until near the final level, then switching to PVP in various ways.

They offer a sPvP experience similar to tourne, while their WvW mode features three competing servers. If you're after sPvP, server selection isn't crucial. For elite WvW, securing a spot is challenging. However, for mid-level WvW, many competitive players gather at Fort Aspenwood—stick to a consistent build. For strong WvW communities, check out Red Guard on YouTube; they’re based in Europe but excel with specific builds. While GvG isn’t officially supported on GW 2, some regions allow it. Research build guides tailored to your desired class for sPvP, WvW, and PvE. In sPvP, everyone benefits from matching stats; success comes from skillful combination.

Can you switch servers? Should I connect using the server you own or is it linked to the guild?

Changing servers costs money. Guilds are spread across multiple servers, but only WvW allows them. PvE groups work on every server because of the Mega server. I’m not sure about sPvP groups—it seems to be a small team of five.
