I attempted to play Star Trek Bridge Crew on Oculus last night and faced problems where audio would cut in and out. Communication was hard because no one could clearly hear each other. I tried another game, Onward, but there was no sound and my microphone wasn't working. I had to adjust the Windows audio settings to 'Rift audio,' but every time I restarted the game, it returned to speakers and the external mic. Noticing this, I realized the issues might be connected since both games are from Steam, though it was quite strange. I've never experienced this problem before and don't usually change Windows audio settings. Is this a Steam-related issue with the latest update? It's really annoying.

It seems unrelated to your Oculus.

It was quite unusual. The delay between my microphone and audio not functioning, while everyone else had issues with STBC.

Do you and all others playing STBC still experience the audio problem now? And this...

I attempted to play 'Onward' (another game I downloaded from Steam) but there was no sound and my microphone wasn't detecting me. I had to adjust the Windows audio settings and choose 'Rift audio'. However, every time I reopened the game, the audio settings would return to speakers and the external mic.

This seems like a problem on your end possibly related to your microphone. I came across a thread that might be similar to your issue...

Thank you sir. I haven't tried STBC today because I'm busy at work. I'm not sure if this was just a coincidence, but these issues seem connected. It's strange that all the problems happened at the same time—last night everyone on STBC couldn't understand each other since the audio would cut out. I've used the Oculus for about eight months and haven't had any similar problems before.
