You might consider reducing the voltage slightly.
My 4790K is running at 4.6 1.22 volts, and the Cryorig R1 i only reaches low 70s during OCCT.
I can't tolerate the high voltage—I get 4.5GHz at 1.2V but the temperatures are 82°C. It might have been an issue with the shop when they applied the thermal paste or something similar.
You're not likely to harm your CPU at 87C, but running it there for extended periods isn't advisable. When overclocking, opt for the lowest voltage that ensures full stability—higher voltage increases heat, which is undesirable. A good air cooler would be ideal if you have space compared to a CLC model. The best part is you won't worry about water leaks or pump failure. I'm using the same CPU as yours but at 4.7G with max temps around 75C, unless I run Prime95 (a newer version). Thanks!
Sorry for the delay in the reply. The setup cost was 1.275v with a 4.7 stability rating on my machine.
Apply only a small amount of paste. A single grain of rice on the middle of the IHS is sufficient.
