Additionally, many older titles are available on the Steam service, along with others. For example, Commander Keen (1990) and Quake I (1996) are still functioning well on Windows 10 and 11.

There are additional issues beyond this one, as virtual machines only mimic a very basic VGA, resulting in poor resolution and performance even for old games. Accessing the real GPU is also not possible because Windows 9x cannot handle it.
Fortunately, pre-made images of Windows 98 work better since they include helpful tools to improve compatibility.
