Both my gpu and cpu run at 60% yet I'm not getting the fps that is set for vsync. What might be the problem? (Ryzen 7 1700x and rx 6800xt w 32 gb ram)

Game? More details are needed. Also, verify the CPU usage per core since not every game uses all threads on a processor. If a core runs at full capacity, it indicates the problem area.

This occurs frequently across various games (excluding Man of Sky, Apex Legends, Sons of the Forest, etc.). I'll review the core later today.

You notice an unusual behavior where two cores are assigned to only 50% of the workload, seemingly due to a strange Windows configuration. This appears to be a bug in the Task Manager but can persist occasionally.

Using an affordable Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 5700X would make the system more responsive. Particularly at higher resolutions like 1440p or 4K. At 1080p even a 5800X3D might cause some performance limits, making it one of the strongest AM4 gaming CPUs available.

Choose a motherboard that supports the 5800X, as it requires a robust VRM. The 5600 and 5700X work with standard options.
