Is there an issue or a constraint in progress?
Hey there, how are you all? I built my PC last year in December for gaming and rendering. Here’s what I got: AMD Ryzen 2700X with stock RGB cooler (not overclocked), MSI RTX 2060 Super, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon GSKill 2x16GB at 3000MHz RAM, a 1TB SATA Samsung SSD with four 120mm coolers (two in, two out), and a 600W quiet power supply. I also have two 23-inch 1080p monitors at 75Hz. Everything seems to be working fine, but I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed by the performance.
In Unigin Heaven Benchmark 4.0, I scored 2535 points with an average FPS of 100.6 (min 36.4, max 198.9) using these settings: Render mode Direct3D11, 1920x1080 at 8xAA fullscreen, custom quality preset, ultra tessellation, extreme. This result matches systems that use an i5-6500 or an EVGA GTX 1060 with 6GB RAM and a RX 470. I’m not considered a top-tier PC builder, but something feels off here—my friend with the same setup (half the RAM, RX 570) got similar FPS.
My temps stayed around 70°C for both GPU and CPU even after long gaming sessions. The RAM was set to 2133MHz despite being a 3000MHz kit. I tried pushing it up to 3000, but the system became unstable. At 2800MHz it runs without crashes, though the fans are much louder now. Is this a motherboard issue?
What do you think about the Unigin score? Does anyone know why RAM auto-sets to 2133MHz even though it’s 3000? And what’s with the low RAM speed setting?
Cheers from Germany, stay safe and healthy!
For the memory, the cpu is 2933mt/s compatible. So thats why its unstable past this frequency. There is no bottle neck with 2700x and RTX 2060 at all. Its a great pair to game with.
Thanks for your prompt responses; I really value it. I think I’ve got the newest chipset drivers, but I’ll make sure to verify!
I aim to improve the wording, perhaps that will work. I think the board was launched well before the 2060 super, which might help.
