Is there an Acer TravelMate that's hanging by the ACER logo?
My Acer TravelMate P215-53 shows the ACER logo on the screen when running Windows 11. My laptop has been working great for months, until I tried to install Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 from a USB DVD reader. After installation finished and it asked me to restart, my PC now never turns off. It just hangs on the ACER logo. Pressing F2 or F12 gets into BIOS, which works fine. I can copy the BIOS settings to a USB stick, too. My mouse works in BIOS, but there is no way to boot from the USB drive. Only Windows installation options show up even if secure boot is turned off. Most of the BIOS settings on the Advanced tab are greyed out and won't work. Also, all the Acer repair tools I tried to fix it with failed completely. I have a full backup on AOMEI, but that only works if I can choose USB booting. It's like being stuck in a catch-22 situation.
Do you want to start Windows on an Adobe DVD? Remove it and restart.
