Is there a whining sound coming from the power supply of an Intel NUC 9?
I've been using an Intel NUC 9 (Ghost Canyon) for some time now, and I've struggled to understand why the power supply makes a persistent whining noise. I'm not sure if this issue affects all units or just my one. I found a video (the audio is slightly boosted so it's easier to capture, but the sound remains similar) at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uV6amh1QUw. My ears are quite sensitive to it, and it bothers me even when placed inside a cabinet built into my desk. I'm wondering if this is the normal sound for the NUC9 9 or if my unit is faulty. Are there any ways to reduce the noise? Perhaps I could insulate the cabinet interior with foam tiles—though I'm unsure if such material would absorb that high-pitched frequency effectively.
