The only fix I discovered online was to remove it each time you launch Windows. There doesn't seem to be an option to enable or disable it in the settings, similar to what's available on the trackpad. I'm asking this because I use an external keyboard and mouse, along with an external monitor. I've closed the laptop completely and don't know if shutting it down actually powers it off. I even tried using a paperclip to gently push the buttons while the lid was just slightly open, but it appears it's still detecting it as open because the desktop keeps switching to a screensaver every time I insert something as small as a paperclip.

Oh, so it recognizes it immediately. I assume the hidden information stays protected. I just don’t want to have to remove the keyboard just to run it as if there’s only one connected device. I believe they do this because they think we assume they have monitors that can operate without relying on the built-in graphics card, so you’d need it whenever you used a port that only connects to the GPU. I bought a Type C monitor that supports both GPUs if it’s plugged into the correct Type C port. It’s surprising it works with Thunderbolt instead of the regular Type C, since the standard port only uses the DGPU.
What it does have is that you shouldn’t turn off the laptop keyboard because any Type C monitor at 60Hz must maintain a 60Hz refresh rate, so the buffer still needs to function. I was searching for a 60Hz monitor that supports 23Hz to achieve around 70Hz, but they don’t make those anymore. Anything that does is either very costly or uses HDMI only, which doesn’t work with the integrated graphics card on any ports.
