Hello.

I'm seeking to test my abilities by deliberately raising my internet latency while gaming. I’m curious if there are ways to adjust Windows or find a program that would allow me to restrict my in-game ping to approximately 80. When I broadcast a Twitch stream simultaneously, my latency fluctuates significantly, ranging from 100 to 250. My goal is to maintain a steady ping of 80, avoiding any further increases.

My current internet connection provides 14 gigabytes of download speed and 12 gigabits per second in upload speed.

Thank you, and apologies if this post is unsuitable for this particular forum.

Have a pleasant day.

Latency, measured as the duration needed to receive a response from another device—such as a computer, server, or online site—is typically expressed in milliseconds. A lower value indicates improved performance. If your ping falls within the range of 100 to 250 milliseconds, you’ll experience a lag of approximately one-tenth to one-quarter of a second relative to the server’s response time, resulting in you observing events slightly before others with lower latency. Consequently, a higher ping is undesirable. Unfortunately, it's not possible to manually control your latency within games or Windows; it’s determined by network conditions. However, you can minimize your ping by disabling any unnecessary internet-using applications, including web browsers, messaging programs, and multimedia streaming on secondary screens.

A lower value indicates improved performance. If your ping falls within the range of 100 to 250 milliseconds, you’ll experience a delay of approximately one-tenth to one-quarter of a second compared to servers with lower latency, resulting in you observing events slightly before others do. Consequently, elevated latency is undesirable. Unfortunately, it's impossible to dictate a precise ping within gaming or Windows settings; it’s determined by your connection. To minimize latency, cease operation of any unnecessary internet-dependent applications, including web browsers, messaging programs, and media streaming on secondary screens.

There appears to be no method for reducing your latency to a server with a low ping, as the network path is determined by your internet service provider’s connections. While I do not play that game, could you select a server location outside of your region?
