Is there a slight slowdown in your processor performance?
I've been running the new Intel 14900K for about three months using the fully unlocked MSI power profile with a peak of 370W and a Vcore of 1.498. A BSOD began roughly a month ago, and since then I've switched to the Intel Default plan, which caps at around 330W and 1.478 Vcore. Apart from adjusting the power profile, I didn't modify any other settings, so both cores are set to their automatic values. I suspect the CPU has been affected, but I'm wondering if it will still function well for another couple of years as long as I stick with the Intel Default plan. I have a 360mm liquid cooler, a contact frame, and Noctua thermal paste installed. The CPU temperature stays near 104°C during peak loads, though it never exceeds 99.5°C. The cores consistently stay under 104°C, and I haven't overclocked them since the BSOD started. I increased the E-core multiplier by 1-2 during overclocking attempts and didn't notice any performance gains, so I'm sticking with stock settings.
This CPU has always operated using the 0x12B microcode, initially with a beta BIOS and later with the complete release BIOS upon its launch.
If this happens it’s likely not degradation. Probably a blue screen caused by heat. Temperatures around 99.5°C and 104°C are quite high, the CPU reaches 14900K which is hot but it might be too much for steady operation. Adjusting the settings manually or tweaking the voltage could help, rather than sticking to the default profiles. I use a 360mm liquid cooler with a built-in contact frame and Arctic MX6 paste, which keeps temperatures lower than the Intel default. I also managed to lower both clock speed and voltage manually, achieving better performance while staying cooler. The RAM can also affect stability; I experienced several blue screens initially, even with QVL RAM, and fixing them required manual overclocking when XMP was enabled.
