I have a prebuilt from HP and need to ask some questions on the HP forums. To do that, I must register on their website, which I don’t want to use again. So I chose to sign up via temp-mail.org for my email, but it asks for a phone number. I’ve seen many sites offering free phone numbers, but I’m unsure which is the safest, most popular, and best option.

Just giving a fake number or is it trying to reach you (so they’re invading your privacy)?
Also, I recently bought a "burner" for these intrusive sites that now ask me to verify my phone number by call. Yeah, right. They’re checking if I don’t value privacy. It’s odd when the phone turns on and there are hundreds of missed calls, even though I only shared that number with websites that claim to care about my privacy.
I’m sure if I studied hard enough and got a law degree, their EULA would say something else.
