put your own (second) router behind them if you're worried about them accessing their equipment.. on the topic of buying a box that'll do fiber.. you dont have the money for a box that'll do fiber. technically i could plug gigabit fiber into my setup at home, but adding the required components for that.. we're already into 4-figure range, with no guarantee the stuff will even talk with your ISP¨.
