Could someone else recommend a platform similar to userbenchmark for side-by-side laptop and PC comparisons?

Steam indicates the lowest and necessary hardware for each game you're considering. If you're unsure about your system's specifications, it might point to a more serious problem.

There are an excessive number of laptop setups that shift rapidly, making this impractical.

I understand, I'm just checking if there are any resources online that can estimate FPS based on your specifications.

In addition to literally millions of system configurations, consider the hundreds or thousands of games and their specific needs. Now, increase that number by thousands of software versions operating across various platforms. Billions of unique pairings emerge. No two systems are identical on Earth. You’re left with only approximate figures, as you observed.

I think it's useful to look for a YouTube video tailored to your specific gear. Be aware that many reviewers are paid or given incentives by manufacturers to present their products favorably, so results might not always be completely accurate. You should anticipate some inconsistencies regarding scaling and settings, and aim for the best-case outcome in most situations.

Even with a website available, I wouldn't rely on it. Your operating system and background processes significantly affect your FPS, and it's impossible to fully predict these factors.

Be cautious with this. Those who review YouTube videos to assess performance often return to forums to understand why their own computers lag behind the video. Keep in mind that posted benchmarks and gaming FPS scores typically represent only the top .1% of results—they’re not the standard. No one will share 'meh' scores; reviewers meticulously adjust settings, tweak configurations, and sometimes manipulate system parameters to achieve scores they consider acceptable. These individuals usually have technical expertise and may even use methods to bypass normal restrictions. In short, don’t stress about meeting published benchmark figures.

Therefore, the way my response is phrased reflects the reality of the situation. Most reviewers seem focused on boosting their ratings for the people who pay them. Only a few YT reviewers stand out in terms of genuine performance and quality. The most reliable ones I know are Steve at Gamer's Nexus and Bry at TechYesCity. It’s similar to entering a car dealership—salespeople won’t share the problems from the service department, as that would affect their commission.
