Is there a mistake when I run my fan?
Hello! My computer's fan started making a funny rattling and vibrating sound, so I took it out to look around. The fan was already pretty clean, but after cleaning it up again, I added some thermal paste. Now when I try to open the laptop, "Fan error" comes up on my screen. I have to keep pressing ESC and say yes to let the CPU run at a low level (not full speed). Still, the fan works sometimes and vibrates a lot, other times it runs fine without overheating. The temperature is normal when everything works okay. Sometimes the "Fan error" never shows up at all while the CPU runs at MAX capacity without any heat problems. My question is: Is there any way to skip this Fan Error because the fan is actually still working? I know that during boot, the system checks the fan's speed (RPM) to make sure it is correct. Can I avoid that check too? The fan isn't working smoothly, but it is doing its job. I want to use the CPU at MAX capacity. By the way, I already checked online for solutions and updated my BIOS after that. Thanks!

To help us figure this out, check the serial number on the Lenovo website for any pending updates. It looks like either a bad BIOS or the fan itself is causing trouble. For now, I'd steer clear of using the computer in that damaged state and tell your seller and Lenovo about it if you're still covered under warranty.
Hi there, thanks for taking your time! Actually, I've already updated all my BIOS settings and other chips, so everything should be fine right now. The fan just isn't working as it's supposed to, but don't worry about that because the CPU temperature is still okay. Are you sure you can turn off that error message or disable the check? Even though the fan doesn't work properly, the computer stays cool thanks to the CPU being under control.
