Is there a method to standardize all your music files simultaneously?
I have some old CDs from the 80s that, no matter what I do to rip them, always come out with a very low volume. It's less than half of the volume of other music I've ripped. This is really annoying when I shuffle through the library and certain songs are almost silent while the rest is at a decent level. I'm willing to lose a bit if some normalization could fix the problem.
I've tried many programs and tips I found online, but nothing has ever solved this issue with these old CDs. Not even after ripping them or doing other post-rip tweaks. I did have an old player that actually normalized them well without changing the files, but that software is no longer available.
I'm only hearing from one ear and it works about 75%, so it would take a huge quality drop for me to notice any difference. Lol
So not to take over the thread, but I'm really curious about how these new options work for you.
It's almost certain it isn't the tearing process itself, but rather the numerous 80s CDs available. Many were low-quality copies or had poor mastering from the start. In such situations, increasing the volume only leads to more damage over time.
