Not sure if this is the correct forum section, but I’m trying to play Dead By Daylight at medium settings with 100+ FPS and 1440p resolution. When I go to max graphics, usage stays around 80-90% and frame rate drops to about 70 with many spikes or changes. At medium settings, usage falls to around 60% and I maintain similar FPS. All my Nvidia configurations are set to maximum performance, and I’ve run a virus scan.
I’m using a GTX 1080 Mini, 16 GB RAM, and a Ryzen 5 1600, so there shouldn’t be any bottlenecks. Appreciate the help!
You may wish to check your CPU load individually for each core. Several games aren't very efficient at utilizing multiple threads, so you might be using just a few cores while appearing to have low overall usage. Even if all six cores were fully utilized, you'd still only notice about half utilization due to SMT providing 12 threads.
Verify your CPU activity. Reducing configurations will decrease strain on the GPU and increase demand on the CPU. Provide complete hardware details, such as the PSU's manufacturer and model.
The CPU usage remains low at lower settings and isn't causing any bottlenecks, though I'll check again next time. Are there other options I could try?
