Is there a laptop that works with vMix software for live streaming on YouTube?
I need a laptop that works with vMix software for live streaming on YouTube. Also, some video editing might be needed. I was told this by the seller, which costs $1720 here. However, I’m confused about why the recommended specs say:
So a config the double of this recommended one the vendor the minimum we need to buy for a smooth process?
I was suggested this ASUS ROG Strix G16 by the seller, priced at $1720 here.
Are you in India? If so, it seems clear they're aiming to push a costly option on you since you didn't realize what you were investing in.
Having more than 16GB of RAM would make sense, though you likely don't need an i9. You'd still require a dedicated GPU for video editing. Regarding video editing, what software would you use with this laptop?
Yes, from India here. This requirement is for a cameraman in a village in the southern state of India. He has some high-tech cameras too.
I was recommending this
Infinix laptop
(which has a decent graphics card) for under $1000.
Infinix GT Book Intel Core i5 13th Gen 13420H - (16 GB/512 GB SSD/Windows 11 Home/6 GB Graphics/NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050/90 W) GL613 Gaming Laptop (16 Inch, Grey, 1.99 kg) - $962
But the support for Infinix in India is next to 0. What's best there are HP and Dell when is comes to support. So I think I'll look for an HP one with < $1000 since Dell's Alienware are way too high.
Based on Lutfig's guidance, I would initially examine the software you intend to use and review its GPU specifications before proceeding.
I understand now - the person already has a Mac with Final Cut Pro for video editing at the HQ. This new laptop would mainly be for YouTube livestreaming using vmix.com's software and encoders such as BlackMagic. If this new laptop isn't for video editing, would a $500 machine without a graphics card be enough for vmix and BlackMagic?
Have you checked this document?
These specs are a bit stricter compared to what's required for vMix.
