Is there a good free video converter available?
Back then I relied on a free AnyVideoConverter that performed well. It could handle converting MP4 to MPEGs, among other tasks. The new version I just got doesn’t seem to offer much. Do you think it’s true there aren’t many good free video converters left? Thanks.
PS. I didn't mention using AVC before, since I've been collecting old films, particularly from the early 1930s. There are some that I haven't found officially yet, but public domain versions are available online and are acceptable until proper releases appear.
Have you explored Handbrake - https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php?
Additionally, Avidemux is available. I primarily rely on it for encoding to h264/x265 formats or for extracting short segments from lengthy videos without needing to re-encode. Avidemux - Main Page
Thank you for the responses! I've successfully set up the older AVC version I used before. If needed, I'll consider your recommendations as a backup.
