Interested in understanding the difference between the new 2025 i7 and the older 2012 i3? The new model has a 1.8 rating, while the old one is 1.9. Plus, the newer one performs significantly better. Both are from Samsung, but the new one is a different brand.

'GHz' is just one aspect of the calculation.
Instructions Per Clock (IPC) also plays a role. A significant factor.
This raises the question: how much processing power does each clock cycle provide?
Imagine transporting 50 people 100 miles away. Decide between a Mustang capable of 130mph but limited to 3 passengers, or a bus that travels at 60 mph and can carry all 50 simultaneously.
Which option completes the task more efficiently?

Improving efficiency by processing more commands each clock cycle. Enhanced cache speed, quicker RAM response, and better interconnects. A more powerful i7 model offers additional physical cores.

Sure thing,
The main goal is to achieve more with less. The updated CPU design will feature lower base speeds but higher performance potential. This allows for greater throughput at the same clock speed, improving IPC. The latest processor offers superior IPC and multicore capabilities, even if the number of cores stays the same.

In fact, I should have emphasized a more sophisticated and dynamic thermal control system built directly onto the chip. This approach enables the performance to increase by two to three times compared to the standard clock speed.

According to others, the guidelines are based on clock time. It's similar to two vehicles moving at the same pace—one being a pickup truck and the other an 18-wheeler semi.
