Hey!
My friend apparently messed up his CPU while swapping the stock cooler for an aftermarket one (not sure exactly how he managed it) and damaged some of the pins. He sent me a blurry photo, thinking maybe bending the pins back up could fix it—probably just 5 pins, but it was closer to 10 and most were bent at a 90-degree angle.

I was halfway through repositioning them when I broke one off. From what I saw, the pin on row AD-15 with the name "VDD_18_S5" was damaged. The only info available is that it's always powered at 1.8 V.

I’m wondering how crucial that particular pin is. I was thinking about taking the CPU to a repair shop to straighten out the rest of the pins, but it would be pointless if one broken pin made the whole thing unusable. I don’t know the cost of replacing soldering pins, but it probably wouldn’t be worth it on a 100-dollar CPU. 😀

Ask the soldering price from repair shop. Also, it would be easy to solder a new pin in.

I found bent pins on my 5700g, it's simple to repair—just follow a YouTube tutorial.

If you follow everything the OP mentioned, you'll understand that the CPU also has one faulty pin. Fixing this isn't straightforward and requires a specialist in micro soldering.
