I need to upgrade my laptop and I'm really confused about all the options. What counts as a real upgrade and what's worth spending money on? I'd like to stay around 1500 and probably buy from Amazon. Could someone advise me on the best graphics card to choose? Also, is a 2060 capable of replacing my current one?

You cannot modify the GPU in that Omen 15 without altering the motherboard and cooling system. Upgrading the GPU isn't possible. This laptop was designed specifically for the 1660TI, and nothing else is compatible. The CPU, RAM, and storage are typically the parts that can be upgraded in most laptops, though the CPU may not be upgradable if it's soldered onto the board.

apologies, i should have been more precise. i’m considering purchasing a completely new laptop. i understand you can’t simply replace the CPU and GPU, but i’m unsure what upgrades are truly valuable within a 1500 price range. i see many models from 2060/2070 and even 3060, but is it really a significant improvement? would spending 1500 bucks be justified if the performance gain is only around 10-15%? additionally, i don’t need 4K gaming; i prefer a higher refresh rate. my current model has a 144Hz display.
