Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand why the weather widget on the Lock Screen appears differently across my devices. All of them are running Windows 11 with the latest updates. I noticed it used to show simple text until I reset one device and then adjusted the settings on another. Now both look similar but with a card-style box displaying the weather. My third device has the newest updates but still lacks the improved weather widget. Has the Lock Screen weather widget been changed? Should I be concerned about my laptop missing an update? Thank you.

It has recently appeared on my primary computer and I initially overlooked it. I verified that the lock screen status was set to "Weather." Changing it to "None" removed the Weather widget.

I understand, it seems like you're not concerned about it now - the feature is being rolled out slowly.

Uncertain about the "rolled out" aspect.
It could also be a "feature, not a bug" situation... essentially a happy accident.
I activated another system that hadn’t been running for a few days. There was no weather widget.
After securing the screen and unlocking to look elsewhere (just a late thought), three widgets showed up on the lock screen: Weather, Stock, NBA/Sports.
I glanced at them briefly but didn’t see an option like "None" or another menu to remove them.
It might be necessary to locate a different slider or setting that requires adjustment in order to eliminate the widgets.
I hope it won’t affect anything else during the process...
Perhaps they’ll vanish on their own after an update.

It seems a few of your systems display varying widgets. That's intriguing!

It's the latest version now, and the link provides instructions on how to disable it. I received it today and realized I don't see the lock screen during startup. The widget has been updated, and I've already turned it off. They seem to use a phased update method—if the laptop hasn't received it yet, they might be coordinating with the manufacturer for compatibility. It could be that they need an update from the device maker.

Thank you for the details. I checked the information again and confirmed whether my device is now displaying the weather widget as mentioned in the previous update from January, or if the new version includes additional widgets and cards. Please let me know.

These are the options available for build 22631.3447. I'm unsure what the previous update said, as I haven't seen anything before this week. Previously, at startup, I didn't see the lock screen and would start with a PIN prompt. The Nvme would open Windows in about 15 seconds without any delays.

I only noticed the weather widget changed during startup. After turning it off, I'm uncertain if they add more features.

I just looked at my other system.
There are three widgets: Weather (named after my location), Markets, and NBA.
I went into the Lockscreen settings and found the option "Weather and More."
I changed it to "None."
All three widgets vanished.
I realize I probably didn’t turn on "NBA," and maybe left "Markets" active for a while.
I’m sure other widgets will reappear. Microsoft might add more and then switch back.
Other new widgets were added to "Weather and More."
Eventually, I’ll have to go back and set it to "None" again.
At least until "More" is a list of individual widgets, then I could pick a few.

Weather is the only widget I rely on, but I don’t need to see it when starting up. I frequently use the widgets page and forgot how to reach it. There’s nothing else I can locate elsewhere. It might be that there isn’t much to display in the broader area of my country, which is why I only saw weather. I believe it was set by default in Weather & More.
