I've installed Ubuntu 16.0.01 on a system with 4GB RAM and a dual-core i5 2500K. The experience was slow when browsing or watching videos. I wondered if using all four cores would keep my Windows 10 host stable, assuming only background downloads and occasional activity. I also tried dual booting but got stuck in an installation loop, so I ended up creating a VM.

It would be best if you ran the VM on a powerful setup. Are your GPU drivers installed? I can add more GPU memory if needed.

I'll attempt to allocate around 2GB of VRAM.

I'm curious about whether VMware supports GPU and PCIe pass-through in a fully operational state, allowing the use of an additional GPU and monitor.

Refers to viewing a video on the guest machine instead of your own host system. It’s suggested this might be more convenient or tailored to the guest environment.

It's tough, but I'm making progress. I'm trying to get comfortable with Ubuntu's interface and fixing issues for months now—it feels like learning a new language. Since I mainly work with Windows and a bit of macOS, it's really challenging. I'm putting in the effort to expand my skills in Linux.
