- Turning off the CPU onboard graphics via BIOS
- Using Ryzen Master with core optimization (no overclocking applied)

I recall having a similar setup with an Am4 board before, running a R7 5700X, which performed significantly better and more stably. Even then, I experienced noticeable performance drops when using Ultra settings at 120%+ resolution, without FSR, and even at 80% normal resolution with balanced OpenVR settings—rendering the experience nearly unplayable.
Regarding non-VR scenarios, occasional hiccups appear but are less severe, and I’m currently at 1080p. Benchmarks show temperatures within normal ranges across all components.
I’ve tried various solutions, but finding a reliable fix remains challenging. Could it be that this system, costing just over $1200, should still handle high-resolution gaming smoothly? It’s frustrating to see such promising specs struggle in real-world use.

Did you modify CPU settings in BIOS? At factory settings it's at least 20-25% slower compared to when adjusted properly. Likewise with RAM, without EXPO/XMP it sets the lowest speed which can also significantly affect performance. Regarding GPU, it also defaults to the lowest performance without Adrenalin software, where you can adjust "Performance mode" for additional improvement. In Adrenalin software, ensure "AMD Smart Access Memory" is activated and matches BIOS settings.
EXPO isn't just a low-quality copy of XMP from AMD. It's actually AMD's own take on XMP. The power consumption isn't my main concern here, but the performance does matter. Have you reinstalled Windows for this, or did you keep the setup from the 5700x version?
I’m used to seeing msi motherboards and reading “xmp,” so I thought that was normal.
I performed a fresh installation. My am4 build had an nvme ssd, which meant it wasn’t compatible with the pcie slots anyway, so I had to replace everything and start over with a new ssd.
I’m still quite confused now… maybe I try reinstalling windows? But this feels like a hardware problem.
You might wonder how to achieve excellent results if the PC isn't configured properly. Simply shouting about hardware problems won't fix the issue. Rather than jumping to unrealistic solutions, pay attention to people with extensive experience in PC troubleshooting.

Also, what are you talking about? Set up which way? What are you even saying? That doesn’t even make sense. Did you even read any of what was posted or are you just screaming from left field?
If you’re talking about my reply about the NVME, I had to switch it to a PCIE ssd. If you knew a single thing, you’d know that an NVME doesn’t work in a PCIE at all, it wouldn’t even be able to be used. In other words, I was saying I HAD to switch to a fresh install because I HAD to switch to a brand new SSD. If you actually read my post, you’d have known that.
Also, i’m waiting for input from experienced people, that is why i’m here. I’m still waiting for you to give constructive help, but you’re just whining because you got sensitive over nothing.

I thought I was depending on the OP. He really needs to optimize everything. The hardware comes last on the list...
I think you are confusing mSATA and NVMe. mSATA or B key M.2 is SATA in an M.2 slot. If your board drops support for SATA in M.2, then an old drive would not work. But if you had an NVMe M.2, which would have been PCIe, then it would also work in this new system.
What about CPU temperatures? Are you certain the pump on that cooler is functional and not air locked? CPU clock speeds look alright in Ryzen Master?
GPU temperatures? I wouldn't expect this to be a problem since you had the card previously, never hurts to check.
As others have said, EXPO should be on to get your memory working at full speed. Also double check that you have your memory in the proper slots for dual channel operation.
Power supply is questionable for running this system, but that would be apparent quickly with shutdowns and crashing.
